At first I absolutely hated it, because I was leaving all of my friends, my school and basically my life. I thought from that point on life as I knew it was over and I was mad at my dad for making us move, actually my brother and my mother were pretty upset with the decision too. Elementary school was probably the hardest for me because I was so young and I cried pretty much every day at my school, missing my old life in New York. At the end of middle school my mom brother and I were all coming around to the idea of living here in Florida. I met more people and started to get used to the temperatures.
When I got into to high school, I fell in love with Florida, I loved the beach and all the new people, if I had the chance to move away it would’ve been an automatic no and still to this day I wouldn't move even if I had the opportunity to do so. During high school I just kept meeting new people and making lifelong friends. One day I met this guy, his name is Stephen Winchip, he ended up to be my boyfriend and who has been my boyfriend since my freshman year of high school and his sophomore year of high school, this relationship has been on and off for four years. Now that we have both moved to a higher level of education, we go to different colleges, he goes to Tallahassee Community College and I go here, Florida Gulf Coast University. We have been commuting back and forth to visit one another and everything works out perfectly.
When I was in high school, I took nursing courses since my freshman year, and doing so I have found a love and passion for this profession. I have earned my CNA (certified nursing assistant) through my high school. Now I am majoring in nursing. I wish to get the highest degree possible during my college education. After I get my degree, I want to become a registered nurse and specialize in the neonatal intensive care unit; taking care of premature babies.
